McLaren F1 driver Oscar Piastri has set Instagram ablaze with a post that’s sparked a wave of laughter among fans. Ahead of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix in Baku, Piastri posted a tongue-in-cheek comment that’s got everyone talking: “Hopefully I’ll eat more than 4 pieces of toast this time in Baku.”
The cheeky remark instantly triggered a flood of responses from his followers, with many fans hilariously relating to the struggle of race-day nerves — or maybe just a lackluster breakfast. Piastri’s toast comment refers to the infamous Baku GP earlier in the season, where he admitted in interviews that he was so unwell that all he could manage was four pieces of toast before hitting the track.

Despite the rough start, the rookie managed to put in a solid performance, winning respect across the F1 paddock. Fans jumped on the opportunity to poke fun, with comments like “A toast to a better breakfast!” and “Forget about the car, it’s all about getting that carb count up.”
Some even chimed in with memes, comparing Piastri’s pre-race meal to that of F1 legends and their more extravagant routines. One fan joked, “Four slices of toast is a strong start… Lewis (Hamilton) is definitely more of a muesli guy.”
