Leclerc moved ahead of Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli at the start before controlling the race, despite the Italian closing in during the closing stages.
Antonelli’s challenge faded after he reported a steering problem, forcing him into the pits before he slipped down the order.

“Finally!” Leclerc said over the team radio after taking the chequered flag.
“This one felt particularly good, even if I wished it was a more normal ending.”

Hamilton had fitted fresh tyres under the Safety Car but was unable to use the advantage as the race finished under neutralised conditions.

Antonelli crossed the line ninth but later dropped to 16th after receiving a time penalty for leaving the track while nursing his damaged Mercedes.
The result marked Leclerc’s first Formula 1 victory since winning the United States Grand Prix in October 2024.
