Former Red Bull team principal Christian Horner returned to the Formula 1 paddock at Sunday’s British Grand Prix, almost exactly a year after leaving the team.
His appearance came as speculation over his future continues, with Horner insisting he would only return to Formula 1 for a team capable of winning.

“I’d only come back for the right thing, because at the end of the day, I want to win and I want to be with winners,” he told the Times of London.
“There’s no point in just to come back for the sake of a job.”

Horner has been linked with several teams since leaving Red Bull, while Alpine revealed in January that he was among a group of investors interested in buying a stake in the team.

He also told the Times he is now “technically a free agent”, suggesting the terms surrounding his Red Bull departure had previously limited his options.

Horner left Red Bull in July 2025 after 20 years in charge, during which he oversaw eight Formula 1 drivers’ championship victories.
In 2024, Horner was accused of misconduct towards a team employee.

An investigation commissioned on behalf of Red Bull dismissed the allegation, while a second investigation following an appeal also upheld the original outcome, with Horner remaining in charge throughout the process.
