A Mercedes-AMG GT S has just appeared on Autotrader for a surprisingly low £39,000 — putting the 510hp supercar in the same ballpark as a brand-new Volkswagen Golf GTI or Ford Focus ST.
The example in question is a 2015 left-hand drive model with Qatari plates, showing 65,000 miles and boasting a chunky spec list.

It comes wrapped in silver with a black and blue leather interior, plus some choice extras including the BlackBoost performance pack, carbon bodykit, panoramic roof, AMG sports exhaust, and even a transparent bonnet.
Inside, there’s the expected luxuries: infotainment, reversing camera, push-button start, cruise control, and air con.

This GT S also packs a carbon steering wheel and rear spoiler, while its 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 delivers the same wallop that made the AMG GT a true rival to the Porsche 911 when new. At launch, these were £100k-plus cars.

Of course, there are caveats. The car is left-hand drive, carries foreign plates, and is nearly a decade old with mileage to match. But for less than what some dealers are asking for a lightly used Hyundai i20 N or Honda Civic Type R, you’re looking at a bona fide AMG supercar with serious presence and power.

As ever with imported, modified examples, potential buyers will want to dig into the history, paperwork and UK registration situation. But on sheer numbers alone, a £39k AMG GT S is one of those “double-take” listings that makes even die-hard modern hot hatch fans pause.
